2020 Virtual Bishop’s Forum

August 8, 2020 @ 2:00 PM - August 11, 2020 @ 6:00 PM

We are pleased to let you know that the Bishop’s Forum is going virtual!

We will be welcoming young English-speaking Quebecers aged 17-26 who:

  • Identify as members of the English-speaking community
  • Want to deepen their understanding of how Quebec society works
  • Are passionate about working with their peers to bring about positive change

 WHEN: Saturday, August 8th through Tuesday, August 11th, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

WHAT: Themes we have discussed at past Forums have included engaged citizenship, indigenous rights, social sustainability, mental health and health care, education, linguistic rights and much more. The Forum’s discussions are driven by participants’ interests and passions.

WHERE & HOW: Participants will join our virtual Bishop’s Forum community for an online experience connecting with engaged youth from across the province (sessions will be hosted via web-based teleconferencing).

What will participants gain from the Bishop’s Forum?

  • Connect with fellow young Quebecers who will positively challenge them
  • Expand their network and engage with inspiring guest speakers
  • Become empowered to lead change in their own community

We’re also hosting an Instagram live event at @bishopsforum for interested young people on Tuesday, June 30th at 5:00 pm. Yolande James and past participants will be on hand to answer questions.

The Bishop’s Forum is funded by the Government of Quebec as part of its Stratégie d’action jeunesses 2016-2021. There is no cost to participate.

If you know a young person who fits the criteria above, please encourage them to apply.

Registration can be done online at https://bishopsforum.ubishops.ca/registration/
