SUMMARY:Jacques-Cartier Adventure Day for Newcomers!
DESCRIPTION:This is a one-time event\, so you don’t really want to miss out on it! \n  \n  \nThe rabaska activity is NOT suitable for children under 6 years of age. \nSince this is going to be the only occasion that we are going to visit this park in the summer\, we are also opening 10 spots for those interested in simply catching a ride with us\, or if for example in your family you have a child under 6 years old (and cannot participate in the rabaska activity). There is a limited capacity for the rabaska and hike guided tours. \nFor more information about the Jacques-Cartier National Park*\, visit their website. On this link\, you can also find more information about the trails and other activities to do while at the park. \n  \nWHAT’S INCLUDED \n\nTransportation from our offices (1270\, chemin Sainte-Foy) to the park (103 Chem. du Parc-National\, Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury\, QC G3C 2T5). We will stop at km 10\, at the Discovery Centre to pick up the guides and for a quick bathroom break. Then\, we will continue driving until we reach km 18\, where the rabaska activity will take place.\nA guided rabaska (type of boat) descent on the Jacques-Cartier river\, lasting from 1h to 1h15.\nA guided hike (l’Aperçu)\, with a duration of 1 hour.\nEntrance fees to the park.\nLife jackets DURING the rabaska activity. If you choose to practice another nautical activity\, it is your responsibility to rent one yourself.\n\nNOT INCLUDED \n\nMeals and/or snacks. SUMMARY:Newcomers Snowshoeing Excursion
DESCRIPTION:Have you noticed that locals love being outdoors even in the winter?!\n  \nYou’ve been wanting to try snowshoeing but don’t own a pair?\n  \n\nVEQ in partnership with Accès-Loisirs will take you to the Jacques-Cartier Nat’l Park to enjoy a day of winter fun!\n  \n\nWe only have 15 snowshoes for adults and a 5for children’s sizes. It is thus important that you reserve your spot!\n  \n ***This visit is not guided.***  \nParticipants are free to choose the trail of their preference. \n  \nWe are providing transportation to the Jacques-Cartier National Park\, so if you recently moved to the Greater Québec City region and would like to explore this place and try a new winter sport while making new friends\, you only need to sign up! \nWe will leave from our offices (1270 chemin Sainte-Foy) at 9:00. The bus will take us to the Discovery & Services Centre\, situated on km 10 from the park’s entrance.  Once there\, you can choose the activities you would like to do\, like exploring one of the many trails listed below. SUMMARY:Under the Giant Rocks Guided Tour for Newcomers
DESCRIPTION:Let curiosity lead your way! This off-trail guided activity takes you on a one-hour impressive path\, surrounded by ancient boulders\, rocks\, and minerals\, all while learning about them. \nIf you are coming by car to the departing point (1270\, chemin Sainte-Foy) you can park your vehicle for free in the parking lot behind the Jeffery Hale Pavilion. I will give you a parking ticket that will waive the fees. We will leave at 8:45 AM\, so please plan accordingly. The bus will take us to the Discovery & Services Centre\, situated on km 10 from the park’s entrance. Upon arrival\, we can have a quick pit stop (bathroom only)\, then hop on the bus again\, which will take us to a further location\, where the tour will begin. The tour is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM. The interpretive tour will take one hour to be completed. Upon return to the Discovery Centre\, participants can take some time to explore a bit more the picnic area\, and the souvenir shop or simply relax while feeling the cool breeze of the Jacques-Cartier river.  We will head back to Québec City at 2:15 PM. \nThis activity is recommended for kids 6 years or older. Adult participants are warned that this activity will be conducted in tight\, closed\, and sometimes dark spaces (squeezing between boulders for example). Please consider all this before confirming your attendance.  For a better idea of what to expect\, you can watch this video. \nVEQ will provide FREE transportation to all participants\, as well as will cover the fee for the SÉPAQ naturalist. The interpretive hike will be in English (the naturalist guide is bilingual though). Each participant MUST obtain the ticket on Eventbrite. It is $9.25 per adult and free for minors (17-year-old and under). If you already have a valid annual pass to the SÉPAQ (Québec’s provincial parks)\, then please get your ticket using the child’s admission option. You are allowed to bring your own inflatable boat\, remember though\, that it is MANDATORY for all to wear a life jacket when practicing water sports in the river (depending on availability\, you may borrow one at the Discovery Centre).
