DESCRIPTION:Join other English-speaking caregivers and  discover how to de-stress using simple yoga stretches guided by Sule Tomkinson\,  a hatha yoga teacher and a political scientist. Sule’s compassionate approach to yoga and life encourage self-inquiry.  Her classes are creative\, energetic and accessible. \nWear comfortable clothing\, bring your water bottle and enjoy some relaxation exercises. We will provide the mats and ambience! Train your body to breathe and your mind to stop racing. \nEnter via the hospital front door\, we will gather in the lounge by the Café Jeff and then proceed at  10 AM to the JEFF’s lovely outdoor garden\, weather permitting. DESCRIPTION:Do you have a close tie with someone living with memory loss? If so\, you are not alone. The Alzheimers’ Society of Canada tells us that the disease affects 1.1 M Canadians directly or indirectly. Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias slowly erode a person’s ability to communicate. Memory impairment can be isolating for the one experiencing it as well as for those providing caring. Conversations may become awkward and frustrating. You may feel tempted to give up trying to connect. Communication with a person with Alzheimer’s requires patience\, understanding and good listening skills. Join us as Geneviève Gaboury\, Counsellor with la Société Alzheimer de Québec\, presents effective\, supportive ways to help you and the person with dementia understand each other better. DESCRIPTION:Caregiver’s Fiesta-Honouring National Caregiver’s week \nThe Caring Circle Café an oasis  for local  English-speakers caring for aging family members and they are looking for a few enthusiastic volunteers to help out at the upcoming Caregivers’ Fiesta in honour of National Caregiver’s Week. We will be giving our caregivers the royal treatment that day including facials\, foot soaking and scrub\, paraffin treatments for hands\, as well as music and art therapy. We will be training caring volunteers to help us provide these services! \nThe Fiesta will take place Tuesday\, November  8  from 10 to noon.
