Join us for a sugar shack experience with traditional Quebecois flavours, live folk music, and fun outdoor activities! Open to all!<\/em>🍁🎶<\/strong><\/p>\n

A sugar shack<\/strong> (cabane \u00e0 sucre<\/em> in French) is a traditional maple syrup-producing cabin<\/strong> found in Qu\u00e9bec <\/strong>and other parts of eastern Canada. It is a place where people gather in late winter or early spring to enjoy a traditional meal<\/strong> and taste fresh maple syrup<\/strong>. Originally, sugar shacks were built near maple tree groves where maple sap was collected and boiled to produce maple syrup<\/strong>. Today, many sugar shacks operate as seasonal restaurants offering traditional Quebecois meals and entertainment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At VEQ, our goal is <\/em>to provide access<\/strong><\/em> to a variety of activities <\/em>for<\/strong><\/em> everyone<\/strong><\/em> in our community. However, we’ve noticed that our free transportation service has experienced a significant number of<\/em> no-shows<\/strong><\/em>, which has unfortunately led to <\/em>wasted resources<\/strong><\/em> that could have been used to<\/em> fund other exciting activities<\/strong><\/em> for all.<\/em>
\nTo help ensure that everyone who needs a ride can rely on the service, starting in February 2025, we will be requesting a <\/em>deposit<\/strong><\/em> of $5<\/em> to $10<\/em> to reserve a spot for <\/em>transportation<\/strong><\/em> (for information, the minimum cost to rent a bus is $275 plus applicable taxes)<\/em>. Th<\/em>e<\/em> deposit will be <\/em>refunded<\/strong><\/em> to participants who attend the activity they reserved transportation for.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
